All Eyes on the World Cup so who are our Entertainment gems backing?

IT’S finally here! Whether you’re supporting our boys England, or are backing samba boys Brazil, there’s no denying the World Cup has gripped the country.

We spoke so some of our entertainment hot shots to find out who they’re backing…

Faze Black

What does the World Cup mean to you?

It means I get to sit back, relax and watch 32 nations go head to head battling it out for which team is the best in the world!

How do you rate England’s chances?

I really do believe England will win the World Cup this time, it just feels like everything is falling into place…but that’s what i said 4 years ago as well!!!!

Aside from England who are you backing to do well in South Africa?

I think the Spanish are very strong contenders this time.

World Cup Picks: England to win, Spain’s David Villa as top scorer

Mithun

What does the World Cup mean to you?

Big, I always look forward to this event.

How do you rate England’s chances?

I think this year’s team is much stronger compared to the last three World Cups. We’re fortunate enough to have a coach like Fabio Capello.

We have a good chance to bring the Cup home!

Aside from England who are you backing to do well in South Africa?

To be honest, I haven’t backed anyone else apart from England in the past!

Mithun’s ‘Kaun Hai Voh is out on June 21

Tommy Sandhu

What does the World Cup mean to you?

Opportunity! The World Cup is an opportunity to (maybe) see England win … an opportunity to see the best of the best … to watch football played by hand selected athletes that are the masters of their nation! It’s also an opportunity to meet up with my boys every day throughout the summer and watch random games…but its the opportunity to get together for some good ol’ banter!

How do you rate England’s chances?

I’m always optimistic. I think what helps is that the English Premier league consists of the best players and coaches from around the world. Therefore our lads are theoretically training and competing in the World Cup each season! I’ve got more confidence this time round than ever before!

Aside from England who are you backing to do well in South Africa?

Holland, Germany and Spain … They’ve got quality, style and feel rock solid when they play. I’ll enjoy watching them every time along with the other obvious contenders like Brazil, France, Italy and Argentina

World Cup Picks: I’m rubbish at predictions, whatever I say never comes true but here goes anyway. I’m backing the top scorers to be Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo … there’s not going to be much between them but I’m expecting this to be the World Cup where they shine! I’d also like to see an underdog team do well, a real outsider. I just love it when small countries play with all their heart and then get a result against a big team!

What does the World Cup mean to you?

The World Cup is something else. I love football. Everyone seems to get wrapped up in it which is great especially as the shops are less busy!

How do you rate England’s chances?

I’m not an expert but every time it comes around we’re told that this is the year. Let’s hope it is!

Aside from England who are you backing to do well in South Africa?

An African World Cup is fantastic, an African nation doing well, even better!

World Cup Winner?

Yeah like I’d know! I put my blindfold on, stuck in a pin and landed on Brazil. Are they any good?

Noreen Khan

What does the World Cup mean to you?

I’ve been a follower of the World Cup since I was a child as it’s always been a big event where my family’s concerned, even my mum gets into it and backs a team!

How do you rate England’s chances?

I think England’s chances are just as good as the hot favourites Spain and Brazil, as long as they remain consistent and show some serious fighting spirit. They should definitely get to the semis at least with key players like Rooney, Gerrard and Lampard.

Aside from England who are you backing to do well in South Africa?

Well I’ve always backed Italy, Brazil and Argentina and that’s not just because they have exceptionally good looking players! I’m also backing Spain!

World Cup Picks: Winner? Ooh that’s a tough one but I’m going for Brazil, even though Spain might just get in there. Top scorer – Messi or Villa.

Sham D

What does the World Cup mean to you?

For me the World Cup is a really fun time seeing the whole world come together and bring in so many different cultures is amazing. The whole buzz towards the end in all the final games is just crazy. Cannot wait for it to start this year, its going to be so much fun!

How do you rate England’s chances?

I strongly believe that all the teams including England have a chance it just really depends on how they cope under pressure on the pitch, I mean you could have a certain team have a bad day but then come back stronger… I will be supporting England all the way though.

Aside from England who are you backing to do well in South Africa?

I know my manager will also support Portugal so I think I’ll be backing them …unless they’re playing England!

World Cup Picks: Winner: England , Top scorer: Wayne Rooney

Sham D’s new single ‘Make It Alright’ is out this month!
