Britain’s biggest buy-to-let landlord has banned so called “coloureds” from renting his properties “because of the curry smell.”

In an email to letting agent Evolution Properties, Fergus Wilson ordered: “No coloured people because of the curry smell at the end of the tenancy.”

The seventy year old property owner from Kent also banned battered wives from renting his homes, for fear their ex’s return and damage his property. The list also includes those under 18, single adults, those without rent guarantees, those on housing benefits, low income workers, zero hours workers, plumbers, smokers and those with pets. In 2014, he banned those with the surname ‘Wilson’, lest it give way to identity issues.

Wilson, who is worth a staggering £100,000,000 and at one point owned 1000 homes in Maidstone, said, “To be honest, we’re getting overloaded with coloured people. It is a problem with certain types of coloured people — those who consume curry — it sticks to the carpet.

We’re getting overloaded with coloured people . . . those who consume curry — it sticks to the carpet.

“You have to get some chemical thing that takes the smell out. In extreme cases you have to replace the carpet.”

Hope Not Hate, the anti-racism group, has decried the ban from Wilson, despite it not actually breaking any criminal laws. That being said, it is still possible he could be sued in a civil court.

Evolution has refused to implement the ban, with manager Roy Fever saying: “We would never implement a policy like that…it is up to the landlord who they take on.”
