Punch CEO Highly Commended For Leadership in Social Responsibility

AMMO TALWAR MBE, CEO of music development agency PUNCH RECORDS, has accepted an INSTITUTE OF DIRECTORS (IoD) commendation for LEADERSHIP IN CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY at their DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR awards.

The award was made during a gala event at EDGBASTON STADIUM on the 15th June 2016, attended by many of West Midland’s most successful business leaders.

IoD Director of the Year  is a prestigious annual event which celebrates directors at the forefront of leadership excellence. The ceremony recognises those local business directors who are pushing the boundaries around growth, commitment to their workforce and to local communities.

Awards for Leadership in Corporate Responsibility are made to those directors who have demonstrated that, through their direct actions and leadership, their business has made a positive impact on the local community wider society and the environment.

Ammo Talwar said,  “I’m very excited to be part of the cultural renaissance of Birmingham. The creative sector might seem to be an exciting or even exotic industry to those working in other elds, but it is a workplace like any other.

“My role is to create jobs, in uence policy and drive positive social change whilst keeping our people in tip top condition. We strive to make good work, provide value and quality for all. Receiving this award is really a ‘big up’ to my team and work partners.

“They are the real engine of Punch. It’s very exciting times for the creative economy in this great city and I’m just pleased to play my part. ”

Punch has announced this month that it has won the contract to bring the iconic  GALLERY 37 youth arts programme back to Birmingham, which will take place this September with a week of free activities and a public performance at  Millennium Point in Birmingham.  GALLERY 37 complements Punch’s existing youth music programme, the award-winning  MUSIC POTENTIAL , which returns to Birmingham in July.
