Trends For Asians

When l was young l used to love flicking through the fashion magazines looking at images of models on the runway wearing gorgeous dresses. Of course they were extortionately priced designer clothing most of us can only dream owning.

As l grew up l realised you don’t have to spend hundreds to look and feel great. You just need to know the designer trends and rock them with your very own identity.

This month’s fashion feature we take a look at London Fashion Week because it’s the place to find emerging everyday trends for all you British Asians.

I pick three favourite British Asian fusion looks you need to be rocking;

Antonio Berardi paired a contrasting pattern dupatta style waistcoat with a v-neck coat jacket and tailored trousers. The dupatta had piping in the centerfolds to create a tailored affect. It’s a simple way of jazzing up a coat or jacket you’re bored of wearing.

Temperley is a designer brand loved by many and one to watch for most Asians. The latest collection London Fashion Week collection features a longline kimono tailored jacket with geo patterns topped with a dupatta with tassels. We normally see these types of trends on South Asian runways and Middle-Eastern brands but Temperley brings the eastern flavour to Britain.

And l haven’t forgotten all you ladies who want to feel comfortable yet elegant for a more evening look we would suggest taking trend tips from the next designer. J JS Lee‘s swanky silvery longline maxi jacket up to the ankles was a big hit. As J JS Lee does just add a collar blouse and matching trousers with a subtle chain waist belt.

You now have some wonderful alternatives for your eastern and western wardrobe ladies! I hope we have inspired you.
