Two charged with murder of Birmingham shopkeeper

Police continue investigation into death of Suppiah Thaaemseelan

POLICE have charged two men with the murder of a Birmingham shopkeeper.

Suppiah Thaaemseelan, 48, died in his convenience store on College Road, Kingstanding, in Birmingham.

He was pronounced dead at the scene despite frantic efforts to save him.

John Meenan, of Camberley Grove, in Erdington, appeared at Sutton Coldfield Magistrates charged with murder.

He was also charged with robbery.

A 26-year-old man has been charged with his murder and with robbery. He will appear before magistrates in Sutton Coldfield on Thursday.

Detectives from West Midlands Police said they were still appealing for information regarding the case.
