POLICE are hunting a man believed to have fled the scene of a car crash on the M6 on Monday.

Birmingham teenager Mohammed Faisal, 18, from the Sparkhill area of the city died after the Ford Focus car he was in left the motorway and overturned in a field near junction 40.

Detectives are still waiting on forensic tests to confirm whether Mr Faisal was the driver of the car.

In the meantime they are keen to trace another man, in his 20s, of British Pakistani origin, who they believe was in the same car.

Detectives believe he made off on foot after the crash and are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen him either on the motorway or hitchhiking to get in touch.

Anybody with information should call 0845 33 00 247.
