Two men arrested in Forest Gate, east London

POLICE have arrested two more men in connection with a house fire in Blackburn which claimed the lives of a mother and father.

Abdullah Mohammed and his wife Ayesha Mohammed died following the fire at their home on London Road, Blackburn on 21st October.

A 23-year old man was arrested last night and a 22-year old man was arrested in the early hours of this morning in Forest Gate, London, on suspicion of murder.

Two other men, Peter Bowden, 39, from Lytham St Annes, and Imran Ali, 29, from Manchester, have already been charged in connection with the fire.

Mr Mohammed died just hours after he was rescued by firefighters from the burning family home. His wife, Ayesha, died a week later at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

The couple’s two young children were also in the house at the time of the fire.

Their son, Mohammed Mohammed, 8, was treated in hospital but has since been discharged. Their 14-year-old daughter, Siddiqah Mohammed remains in a stable condition and is said to be improving.

The couple have another son, Ashraf Mohammed, who was away at University at the time of the fire.
