“Sian did not comprehend the gravity of his offending or the impact it had on others.”
Quinton local Harjit Sian, was imprisoned for 18 months following a two-year police investigation, after a laptop containing chills-sex pictures was found at Wolverhampton train station.
The computer, left by fellow pervert Christopher Williams, was said to contain indecent pictures sent by Sian.
A laptop and storage card, containing more than 900 abuse- pictures and four videos, were also found at Sian’s home in Quinton Road
42-year-old Sian was sentenced, after admitting seven offences of possessing and distributing indecent images of children, at Birmingham Crown Court.
He was also placed on the sex offender register for ten years.
Supt Allan Gregory, of British Transport Police, said: “In interview, it was clear Sian did not comprehend the gravity of his offending or the impact it had on others.
“To him, they were simply images and he didn’t associate them with the wider abuse of children, which would’ve taken place for them to exist.
“We are satisfied with the sentence handed to Sian, which reflects the seriousness of the offences he committed and we hope it gives him time to fully consider what he has done.
“While the majority of the crimes we deal with are on the rail network, this case shows we are prepared to pursue offenders beyond the tracks and we will do everything in our power to obtain justice for victims.”
