The relatives of Harish Kumar paid tribute to the Walsall man, saying he was “great but humble”.

Mr Kumar’s body was found in the passenger seat of a BMW West Bromwich Police Station on Moor Street on August 10th.

To preserve evidence, the front office of the station was temporarily closed.

A post mortem revealed that the 39-year-old died as a result of a stab wound to the chest.

40-year-old Sukhwinder Singh appeared in court yesterday charged with murder of Mr Kumar. Following the hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Singh, of MacDonalds Close in Tividale, was remanded in custody.

“He was always there to help and he will be sadly missed – I can’t just believe that we’ve lost him,” read the statement from Mr Kumar’s family.
