Shak Khan Comes To Birmingham


Shak Khan – also known as Raja Sony Palwan, son of Raja Khouram of village Sochani, near Dadyal, in Azad Kashmir, is the Freestyle Wrestling Champion of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan.

Sony Palwan will be defending his title against Austria’s Number One contender Kovac on a televised event in Birmingham early next January.

Sony Palwan is proud to represent his homeland of Azad Kashmir in Kushti fights all over the world. He remains unbeaten in over 250 contests and was trained by Former Champion of Pakistan – Palwan Ali Shan.

Sony turned professional at the age of sixteen years after taking part in challenge fights against members of the public for money prizefighting at the carnival wrestling shows at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, where Sony now lives and teaches students in Kushti at his wrestling club.

The event in Birmingham will be filmed by TV99 (Channel 842) and will be attended by various VIP special guests including politicians, councillors, TV & radio stars, singers, and a host of businessmen from the Pakistani community including event sponsor and Birmingham based businessman Ch. Wajad Ali Burkey – the advisor to President AJK Sardar Yaqoob Khan.

The event will be held at Nechells Leisure Centre, Rupert St, Birmingham B7 5DT on Sunday 8th January 2017. Tickets are priced at £5.00 – Kids, £10.00 – Adults, £20 – VIP Ringside.
