Panjab Radio kicked off at 8am to midnight on Sunday 27th September 2015 and managed to raise £69,821.00 for Sikh Relief, a charity which provides help and assistance to the poor, needy and destitute predominantly in Panjab, India. As part of the 15th anniversary of Panjab Radio broadcasting to the Panjabi community, their aim was to deliver something back for a charitable cause.

Cheque handover ceremony took place on 9th January 2016 at Panjab Radio studio on Hayes attended by over 100 people from all over UK. Those associated with Panjab Radio from over the years, along with Sikh Relief organisation members were invited to the ceremony, whilst Panjab Radio listeners were given access to attend and witness a praiseworthy accomplishment.

Balbir Singh Bains, of Sikh Relief said:

 “I’m delighted that Panjab Radio took this initiative to raise such a large amount to help poor, needy and destitute in Panjab. We are grateful to Panjab Radio listeners for getting involved in supporting such worthy causes”.

Panjab Radio managing director Surjit Singh Ghuman MBE said: “Listeners have supported Panjab Radio for the last 15 years, a large amount in such a short space of time once again proves the vast listenership of Panjab Radio, I would like to thank everyone involved on the day”.
