Man Charged With Murder After Wolverhampton Stabbing


Suhail Azam Appeared in Court

A MAN has appeared in court charged with stabbing his estranged wife to death in her Wolverhampton home.

Suhail Azam, from Newhampton Road East in Whitmore Reans, is accused of attacking 35-year-old Kanwal Azam at an address in Ingelby Gardens on Saturday (March 29) and leaving her with fatal knife wounds.

Police were called to the house at 3.20pm and, after forcing entry to the property, found the victim in the living room with multiple stab injuries.

A forensic post mortem examination is due to take place later to determine the precise cause of death.

Unemployed Azam, 54, was arrested by police near his home address at around 4.20pm.

And following questioning by detectives he was charged with murder and is due to appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court.
