Acclaimed Poet Showcases Her Work at Central Library
Acclaimed Indian writer Dalvir Kaur will be showcasing poetry from her latest book at Central Library next week.
Dalvir, who has received many awards for her poetry both in the UK and abroad, describes her poems as analytical literature which is self-helping and healing to the mind and human condition.
She will be reading from her latest book, Hasil, at Central Library next Friday 21 March, 2014, from 2pm-3pm. Entry is free.
Born in the Punjab, and now living in Wolverhampton, Dalvir is a senior counsellor and clinical supervisor with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Next week’s event is being held to mark this month’s International Women’s Day and Central Library’s Events and Activities Coordinator Tina Campbell said: “International Women’s Day celebrates the social, political and economic achievements of women around the world.
“We have chosen to highlight the work of Dalvir Kaur in recognition of her tremendous achievements, both in her professional life and also in her poetry, which is well respected around the world.”
Hasil is currently being translated into English, while Dalvir is the author of three other collections of poetry which are only available in Punjabi at present.
