THE grandfather of a six-week-old baby boy who died after being admitted to hospital has paid tribute to him.

The baby was today named by Police as Mohammed Ismail from the Heaton area of Bolton.

The youngster’s grandfather described him as a “much loved member of our family.”

In a statement released by Police he said: “This is an extremely difficult time for all our loved ones. Ismail was a much loved member of our family and our thoughts remain with his parents at this terrible time.

“We ask that we will now be allowed to grieve privately.”

Police were called after the baby died at Alder Hey Hospital having been transferred from the Royal Bolton Hospital.

He had been admitted to hospital after paramedics were called to the family home in Heaton, Bolton on 5 January 2012.
