Man dead, woman critical in suspected poisoning
A WOMAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of her former lover and attempted murder of his girlfriend in a suspected poisoning.
Lakhvinder Cheema, 39, of Princes Road, Feltham, died in hospital on Wednesday after sharing a meal with 21-year-old Gurjeeta Kaur.
Ms Kaur was left fighting for her life in London’s West Middlesex Hospital.
Her family have been at her bedside. Police say her condition is stable.
Lakhvir Kaur Singh, 39, of Marlborough Road, Southall, faced Ealing Magistrates Court in West London on charges of murder and attempted murder.
Speaking in court through a Punjabi interpreter, Singh confirmed her name and address and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on May 8.
