West Midlands Police are investigating into a hit-and-run on Soho Road, Handsworth.

A man was found with serious head injuries, consistent with being hit by a car in the early hours of Saturday 31 August.

Emergency services swooped on Soho Road at the junction of Thornhill Road  just before 4am.

Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

His family are being supported by specialist officers.

The man was a pedestrian and was hit by a passing car, which left the scene, police havde launched an investigation.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and our thoughts are with the family of this man at this very tragic time.

“I am asking for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“Perhaps you saw the lead up to the collision, or the aftermath.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who has information.”
