Police are in search for missing 16-year-old and have released a new image.

Abdul Madgid Fares has been missing from his Leicester city centre home since Thursday 22 August.

Leicestershire Police issued an initial appeal on Friday, along with a picture of Abdul wearing a navy coat.

Police has now released a new, clearer image of the youth, in which he is wearing a grey, Nike, tracksuit top. He was wearing the top when he was last seen on Thursday afternoon.

Abdul has been described as short, and with dark hair. He also wears glasses.

Officers are urging the teenager, or any of his friends, to make contact as his family are extremely concerned for his safety and welfare.

Pc Jo Insley said: “Abdul is not in any trouble and both his family and ourselves just want to ensure he is OK and is safe.

“We are urging Abdul to make contact with family, police or another trusted adult to let us know this.

“If any of Abdul’s friends know of his whereabouts or have seen or heard from him – or anyone else believes they have any information regarding Abdul, we also urge them to get in touch.

“Thank you to everyone so far who has helped with inquiries including by sharing our appeals.”

Anyone with any information about Abdul’s whereabouts should ring police on 101.
