Grand Showbiz and Entertainment Ltd. launched with an ambition to capitalise on the ever-growing South Asian community by delivering engaging and quality cinema to every Indian film buff across the globe.
In just a few months’ time they have become the overseas distributer for the critically acclaimed Aishwarya Rai and Randeep Hooda starrer Sarabjit, the controversial biopic surrounding Mohammad Azharuddin, former captain of the Indian cricket team – Azhar and the Punjabi super hit film Ambarsariya.
Co-founder of Grand Showbiz and Entertainment Ltd. Rohit Shelatkar said: “When Aniket and I embarked upon this cinematic journey of forming Grand Showbiz Entertainment and Media, our mission was simple – to ensure every Indian film buff across the globe from the UK and US to Dubai and Australia got the opportunity to watch entertaining and quality Indian cinema.
We all love our Indian entertainment and no matter where we go, Indian films give us a sense of being back home, whether it’s a patriotic true story such as Sarabjit or an entertainer like Ambarsariya, and that’s the audience we want to connect with as we spread the reach of our cinema across borders.
This year we started on a high note with the critically acclaimed Aishwarya Rai and Randeep Hooda starrer Sarabjit, the controversial Azhar with Emraan Hashmi and the Daljit Dosanjh entertainer Ambarsariya.
Today we are proud to be the overseas distributers of Udta Punjab, a film which has become a movement against freedom of expression of creative artists and filmmakers through its tryst with the CBFC and at the same time shows the entertainment side of realistic cinema.
Directed by Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Phantom Pictures and Balaji Telefilms, it is a story that revolves around drug abuse with a message to the youth.
I hope you all enjoy the film and gear up for our next release which will also be our venture into co-production, the sequel to the super hit Punjabi comedy Sardarji – Sardarji 2, which will release on the 24th of June!”
