Aarav Sapra Will Celebrate His Fifth Birthday Running for Charity

A four year old will be celebrating his fifth birthday by tackling a mile run in aid of a national charity.

Aarav Sapra, from Feltham, will be joined at the starting line by his father, Rohat Arora, 36, and his mother Komal Sapra, 30, who has decided to run with 16-month-old daughter in a buggy.

Mother Komal had been the one to encourage his. She said, “I motivated him and said let’s do something different this year. We can run a mile on your birthday for charity.”

“A lot of people are poorly and Macmillan supports them. He agreed and only asked for a Macmillan cake. He was very excited as we received his Macmillan T-shirt and they will provide us with balloons and bunting.”

“The time has come to stop getting the children whatever they ask for, from gadgets to toys. They need to know the value of life and raising awareness from a five-year-old boy should help. I work in a children’s centre and mum’s are telling their children to run too.”

Macmillan was chosen as their selected charity because of family and friends that have been diagnosed with cancer and have had received “immense help from the charity.”

Having already raised £917.04 of his £1000 sponsorship target, Aarav is well on his to reach his target. He said, “”I am raising money so i can help for Macmillan Cancer Support because Macmillan help very ill people.”

“After the run, a cake sale will be held at the Feltham Asda to drum up as much funds as possible. A homemade cake in Macmillan colours will be waiting for him following the run and the Mayor of Hounslow Corinna Smart has been invited to meet Aarav and cut the special cake with him.”
