Witnesses Plea In Hunt For Rapists

Thames Valley Police is continuing to appeal for witnesses in its on-going investigation into the rape of 17-year-old girl in the Chalvey area of Slough.

The girl was walking from Darvill’s Lane towards the High Street on Friday evening (27/6) when she met with a group of men around the junction with Church Street and Chalvey Road West.

She started talking with one of the men and walked with him along the High Street, stopping at an off license, before proceeding Spackmans Way and along a footpath and into some woods near to the Jubilee River.

They were then joined by four other men that had been part of the group earlier, who arrived at the location in a small silver car. The girl was raped at this location by several of the men.

Officers from CID in Slough are continuing to carry out enquiries locally and would urge anyone with information to come forward and speak to us as soon as possible.

Det Insp Nicola Hurdley, who is leading the investigation, said: “This has obviously been a very traumatic incident for our victim and we are continuing to work with her to get information that will lead us to finding and arresting those responsible.

“As part of our investigation, we are now trying to identify a man who is believed to be Somali, who was in the off-license in High Street, where the girl and one of the men stopped on the way to location of the offence.

“He may have information that could help our investigation and I would urge him to come forward and help us.

“Also, we can now say that we believe all of the offenders were in their twenties.

“Were you in the Chalvey area on Friday evening? Did you see a group of Asian men talking with an Asian girl around the junction with Church Street and Chalvey Road West? Did you see a small silver car with a four Asian men being driven around the High Street and Spackmans Way area? If you can help us at all then I would urge you to come forward and speak to us as soon as possible.”

Uniformed officers will continue to carry out increased patrols in the area today and into next week and will be there to address any concerns local residents may have.
