Man Has Face Slashed

Police and paramedics were called to Washwood Heath Road on Sunday 22 December after a man was slashed in the face with a knife.

The man, aged 43, was given treatment at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

A woman, aged 23, and a man, aged 27, were later arrested on suspicion of assault and are currently in custody.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: “Two people have been arrested after a man received a cut to his face last night (Sunday 22 December).

“Officers were called to Washwood Heath Road, Ward End at 8:25pm.

“A 43-year-old man was taken to hospital with a wound to his face which fortunately is not thought to be serious.

“A woman, aged 23, and a man, aged 27, were arrested on suspicion of assault and are currently in custody.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman added: “We were called to Washwood Heath Road at 8.24pm following reports a man had been stabbed.

“We sent an ambulance, paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor. We treated one patient, a male for stab injuries which are not believed to be serious.
