{"id":9835,"date":"2010-03-09T16:51:05","date_gmt":"2010-03-09T16:51:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2010\/03\/09\/razzaq-joins-hampshire-royals\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T16:46:38","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T16:46:38","slug":"razzaq-joins-hampshire-royals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2010\/03\/09\/razzaq-joins-hampshire-royals\/","title":{"rendered":"Razzaq joins Hampshire Royals"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Pakistan all rounder teams up with Shahid Afridi for T20 competition<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"180\" height=\"262\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/AbdulRazzaq_180x232.jpg\"\/>PAKISTAN all-rounder Abdul Razzaq will play Twenty20 cricket for Hampshire alongside international team mate Shahid Afridi.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>He will join the club\u2019s newly named Hampshire Royals side for the 2010 Friends Provident t20 competition which starts on 1 June. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The move is a big boost for the club who now boast two champion World Twenty20 stars in Razzaq and Afridi for the new look tournament. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Both cricketers were instrumental in Pakistan\u2019s final win over Sri Lanka last year to clinch the Twenty20 World Cup. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Razzaq will be well suited to conditions in England having had stints at Surrey, Worcestershire and Middlesex. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cI am looking forward to playing for Hampshire in the Friends Provident t20,\u201d Razzaq said. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cI&#8217;ve always enjoyed my cricket in England as it is a home away from home due to the massive following Pakistani players have there, and I will do my utmost to try and help Hampshire win the tournament.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0\u201cWe are really pleased that Abdul has joined Hampshire for the Friends Provident t20 campaign. He is a proven match winner and can turn a game with either bat or ball. We are looking forward to his arrival,\u201d Hampshire\u2019s First XI Manager Giles White said.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Hampshire Chairman Rod Bransgrove, added: \u201cAbdul Razzaq is one of the finest Twenty20 performers in the world.\u00a0 He will be a great asset to the side and adds even greater depth to an already impressive team.
