{"id":9801,"date":"2009-11-18T12:39:52","date_gmt":"2009-11-18T12:39:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2009\/11\/18\/football-fans-urged-too-dive-into-club-curry\/"},"modified":"2009-11-18T12:39:52","modified_gmt":"2009-11-18T12:39:52","slug":"football-fans-urged-too-dive-into-club-curry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2009\/11\/18\/football-fans-urged-too-dive-into-club-curry\/","title":{"rendered":"Football fans urged too \u2018dive\u2019 into club curry"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Birmingham City to offer fans \u2018The Blue Queudrue\u2019 to celebrate National Curry We<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"232\" height=\"225\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/BlueQuedrue_232x180.jpg\"\/>BIRMINGHAM are hoping to cement their position as the country\u2019s foremost curry region after teaming up with the city\u2019s leading Premiership club to celebrate National Curry Week.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Visitbirmingham.com and Birmingham City FC have devised their own special curry which will be offered to fans at the club\u2019s home game against Fulham FC this weekend. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The move will not only celebrate National Curry Week, which runs from 22 \u2013 28 November, but will aim to cement the city \u2018once and for all as the UK\u2019s curry capital\u2019, organisers said. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Blues players James McFadden and Franck Queudrue were enlisted to help in the cause in a special \u2018curry-cook off\u2019. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Both players were helped by chefs from one of the city\u2019s leading award-winning restaurants, Lasan.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Defender Queudrue triumphed in the \u2018battle of the massala\u2019, after a panel of top-judges gave him a thumbs up for his special creation. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The curry was officially named \u2018The Blue Queudrue\u2019, by city fan Ian Treadwell.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Fans attending the home match against Fulham this Saturday can pick up their curry at the Royal George pub from 12.30pm. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cCurry has always been an important part of the Birmingham restaurant scene, and over the past few years has developed into high quality cuisine, especially in restaurants such as Lasan,\u201d Dave Hodgson of Marketing Birmingham said.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cIt\u2019s great to see a curry like this one, created for Birmingham City FC.
