{"id":9703,"date":"2009-04-20T15:53:55","date_gmt":"2009-04-20T15:53:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2009\/04\/20\/amir-khan-champions-asian-star-project\/"},"modified":"2009-04-20T15:53:55","modified_gmt":"2009-04-20T15:53:55","slug":"amir-khan-champions-asian-star-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2009\/04\/20\/amir-khan-champions-asian-star-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Amir Khan champions Asian Star project"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Football initiative gathers momentum<\/h3>\n<div><strong>BOXER Amir Khan is the latest sportsperson to give his backing to Chelsea\u2019s Search for an Asian Soccer Star initiative.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The 22-year-old Bolton Wanderers fan, who will fight for the world light-welterweight title this June, has given his support to the project which is designed to tackle under-representation of Asian footballers throughout the game. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The initiative, a first from any Premiership club, has already received the backing of a number of players including Zesh Rehman and Nicolas Anelka. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cSport can have a huge positive effect on young people and that is why I am supporting Search for an Asian Soccer Star.
