{"id":9574,"date":"2008-08-11T17:21:39","date_gmt":"2008-08-11T17:21:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2008\/08\/11\/amir-khan-wows-fans-in-public-work-out\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T16:35:03","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T16:35:03","slug":"amir-khan-wows-fans-in-public-work-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2008\/08\/11\/amir-khan-wows-fans-in-public-work-out\/","title":{"rendered":"Amir Khan wows fans in public work out"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Boxer gives fans chance to see him in the flesh<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"277\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"180\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/AmirKhanManchester_180x232.jpg\"\/>DIE-HARD Amir Khan fans\u00a0were treated to a once in a lifetime opportunity when the boxer performed a free-to-watch public work-out in Manchester\u2019s Arndale Shopping Centre.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The young star from Bolton gave an estimated 14,000 fans a special sneak preview of how preparations are going for his fifth Commonwealth Lightweight title defence next month at the M.E.N Arena.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Khan has electrified fans up-and-down the country with his dazzling speed and power that has swept him to a perfect 18-0 fight record with 14 knockouts and he is now within touching distance of a big World title fight.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The public work out was the first time fans\u00a0got to see Khan in action alongside new trainer Jorge Rubio. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The Cuban filled the void left by former trainer Oliver Harrison and is confident Khan will one day become a world champion. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;It&#8217;s my ambition to make Amir a world champion,&#8221; said Rubio, who was introduced to the media earlier this month during an intense workout at Khan\u2019s gym in Bolton. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;I believe he has got the talent to reign for years. I have been working on his defence and his footwork, but I&#8217;m not looking at changing him too much, just improving a few areas.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n&#8220;It will take time, but Amir has already got better in the few weeks I&#8217;ve worked with him, and I&#8217;m seeing the difference every day.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n&#8220;Amir Khan is a smart guy and only I have to tell him something once before he puts into practice.
