Following a trail of sneak peaks over the past few months, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has now released the official trailer for his long-awaited epic. The unveiling took place at a dedicated launch event in India, in front of hundreds of lucky fans.<\/p>\n

The release has been much anticipated over the past few months, with fans being drip-fed gossip from the sets and promotional launches.<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

The action-packed trailer offers a glimpse into the dramatic story of the Peshwa and his second wife, Mastani. Sealing its position as Sanjay Leela Bhansali\u2019s magnum opus, the trailer for the historical drama gives a taste of the film\u2019s explosive action sequences, opulent sets and stunning costume design.<\/p>\n

With less than one month to go until the film\u2019s release, excitement is building at the Bajirao headquarters!<\/p>\n

Speaking at the launch, Sanjay Leela Bhansali said: \u201cBajirao\u00a0Mastani\u00a0has been a story I have been yearning to tell. I have lived with it for several years and finally after a decade this dream is being realised.\u00a0Bajirao\u00a0Mastani\u00a0is a very intense love story. Making this film has given me immense joy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arriving at the launch event style, in a horse-drawn carriage, Deepika Padukone wore a stunning floor-length gown, and Ranveer Singh sported a military inspired sherwani.<\/p>\n

Deepika Padukone commented: \u201cThis film is definitely the toughest of my career. To play the legendary\u00a0Mastani\u00a0was such a dream and Sanjay sir knew exactly how he wanted me to play it. Fans were treated to a special surprise with Priyanka Chopra speaking live from Montreal via a video link. Teary-eyed, Priyanka discussed her experience being part of Bajirao Mastani.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cFor me the film is poetry in motion. It is beautiful. Usually characters do not affect me but this film has.\u00a0\u00a0There is so much emotional turmoil. It is definitely a\u00a0milestone in my life”.<\/p>\n

The unveiling of the official poster was followed by the grand trailer launch. Emblematic of Sanjay Leela Bhansali\u2019s dedication to epic period dramas, the new poster is intriguing, and offers another peek into Bhansali\u2019s magnum opus.<\/p>\n

Eros International and Bhansali Productions\u2019 Bajirao\u00a0Mastani is\u00a0directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Milind Soman and Tanvi\u00a0Azmi will release on December 18, 2015.<\/p>\n
