{"id":9034,"date":"2012-02-06T16:17:15","date_gmt":"2012-02-06T16:17:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2012\/02\/06\/bollybrit-film-set-for-uk-cinema-screens\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T15:56:43","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T15:56:43","slug":"bollybrit-film-set-for-uk-cinema-screens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2012\/02\/06\/bollybrit-film-set-for-uk-cinema-screens\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018BollyBrit\u2019 Film set for UK Cinema screens"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Naachle London brings Bollywood to Britain<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"middle\" width=\"460\" height=\"247\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/NaachleLondon_460x225.jpg\"\/><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong>THE first ever BollyBrit film is set to hit the big screen later this month!<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Naachle London\u00a0\u2013 a unique cinematic offering that presents a British take on the classic Bollywood genre, releases across the UK on\u00a024th\u00a0February.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Adopting the classic, Bollywood narrative structure and influence,\u00a0Naachle London\u00a0retells the rich girl-poor boy love story in a contemporary British setting, while dealing with issues that face British society today such as the recession, interracial relationships, the stigma attached to divorcees among Asian communities and self-esteem and acceptance issues facing teenagers in modern Britain.\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The film is produced and directed by maverick filmmaker,\u00a0Neville Raschid,\u00a0 whose earlier credits are indie Brit flicks,\u00a0Ealing Comedy, which was hailed\u00a0\u201cthe best movie I\u2019ve seen since Juno\u201d\u00a0by BBC\u2019s Nikki Bedi and\u00a0Lost Dogs, which Lisa Snowdon described as her\u00a0\u201cfavourite Brit pic\u201d\u00a0on ITV1\u2019s\u00a0This Morning.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Taking the lead roles in the film are Raj Ghatak who was nominated for a BAFTA for Andrew Lloyd Webber\u2019s stage musical,\u00a0Bombay Dreams, and actress Sofia Hayat.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Producer\/ Director Neville Raschid\u00a0said:\u00a0\u201cMaking a film is the closest thing a male filmmaker can come to creating a child. You \u2018carry\u2019 the film for many months; then comes the \u2018labour\u2019 period when you shoot and edit the film; and finally it is ready to leave home on the film\u2019s release and you can\u2019t do anything more about it anymore. \u2018Naachle London\u2019 has been a marathon over an obstacle course with the finish line over a bed of hot coals. But it\u2019s a film I am immensely proud of. During the shoot we had the August riots and the rain to contend with but all that slog will be worth it if the film is warmly received and does solid business at the box office.
