{"id":8972,"date":"2011-08-08T16:52:03","date_gmt":"2011-08-08T16:52:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2011\/08\/08\/jay-sean-set-for-london-mela-return\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T15:53:05","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T15:53:05","slug":"jay-sean-set-for-london-mela-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2011\/08\/08\/jay-sean-set-for-london-mela-return\/","title":{"rendered":"Jay Sean set for London Mela return"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Singer to headline BBC Asian Network event<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"middle\" width=\"460\" height=\"259\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/JaySean_460x2251.jpg\"\/><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong>JAY Sean is going back to his roots!<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The number one selling music star will headline the BBC Asian Network\u2019s main stage at next month\u2019s London Mela. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>His headline act will mark Jay\u2019s first Asian event performance for more than three years, and a return to his early days in the music industry when he was a regular on the UK Mela circuit. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The Hounslow-born artist will perform in front of a home crowd at the Gunnersbury Park, Ealing event on Sunday 4th September, with a 45 minute set, including exclusive material from his forthcoming album.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Speaking about his headline gig, Jay said: &#8220;I&#8217;m so excited to be coming back to London to perform in front of my home crowd! \u00a0They&#8217;ve been with me from the beginning and I&#8217;m looking forward to giving them an amazing show!&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Mark Strippel, Head of Music and Events, BBC Asian Network said he was \u201cdelighted\u201d the singer had chosen to headline the popular Asian music event. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;BBC Asian Network has a long relationship with Jay Sean and I\u2019m delighted that he&#8217;s chosen the London Mela to perform in front of his home crowd,\u201d he said. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWe provide our listeners with a consistent level of exclusive access and quality that sets us apart, and fans can expect to hear exclusive Jay Sean content from the station over the coming month.&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Other Main Stage highlights include, Bhangra superstar Jazzy B returning to the London Mela for the first time since 2002 to perform exclusively from his new album and new sensation Garry Sandhu makes his Mela debut. Local Southall-based Bollywood playback star Ash King will perform hits including &#8216;Te Amo&#8217; and Mumzy Stranger is joined by prot\u00e9g\u00e9 Junai Kaiden with a live band. Station presenters Tommy Sandhu, Noreen Khan, Sonia Deol and Murtz host the Main Stage throughout the day.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>BBC Asian Network will be broadcasting live from backstage 2-9pm, with performances and interviews from all Main Stage performers.
