Actress premieres latest film Miral<\/h3>\n
\"\"INDIAN actress Freida Pinto will put her promotional duties aside to celebrate her birthday in London.<\/strong><\/div>\n

The Slumdog Millionaire beauty was on the red carpet at the BFI London Film Festival on Monday night for the premiere of her forthcoming film Miral. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Pinto, who wore a black Alexander McQueen gown, said she would celebrate her birthday with her family and not boyfriend Dev Patel who is filming in India. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

“I’m here until tomorrow, so there’s no way I can celebrate my birthday in India, and that’s where Dev is filming.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

“But my family are here so I’m going to just celebrate with them a bit later.”<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Pinto\u2019s latest film, Miral, is based on Rula Jebreal’s semi-autobiographical novel, about her life growing up amid the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Jerusalem.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The film, which is directed Julian Schnabel, sees Pinto plays Miral, who grows up in an orphanage and goes on to teach in a refugee camp.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Speaking about the film Pinto said: “It is a film about hope. It is a film about perseverance. It’s a film about education being key to devote to peace.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

“And Rula’s mentioned this many times, and I think it’s really beautiful, she said Gandhi said this, the father of my nation.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

“‘There’s no way to peace, peace is the way. And I think it’s as straight forward as that.”<\/div>\n
