{"id":8793,"date":"2010-01-15T17:17:08","date_gmt":"2010-01-15T17:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2010\/01\/15\/adil-ray-as-youve-never-seen-him-before\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T15:45:33","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T15:45:33","slug":"adil-ray-as-youve-never-seen-him-before","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2010\/01\/15\/adil-ray-as-youve-never-seen-him-before\/","title":{"rendered":"Adil Ray \u2013 as you\u2019ve never seen him before!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>BBC DJ stars in new BBC Two comedy series \u2018Bellamy\u2019s People\u2019<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"180\" height=\"267\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/AdilRayBellamysPeople_180x232.jpg\"\/>HERE\u2019S BBC Asian Network presenter Adil Ray \u2013 as you\u2019ve never seen him before!<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The pictures are taken from the new BBC Two comedy series \u2018Bellamy\u2019s People\u2019. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The eight-part series starts later this month and is developed from the BBC Radio 4 satire \u2018Down the Line\u2019. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>It sees hapless radio talk show host Gary Bellamy jumping into his Triumph Stag &#8216;personality vehicle&#8217; to travel the length and breadth of the land, meeting the people of Britain and trying to find out what makes us tick.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The series, which reunites Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson for their first television partnership in ten years, sees Adil Ray appear as a number of characters &#8211; Mr Khan, a hilarious self-appointed Asian community leader from Leicester, MC Raa, a DJ based in Birmingham who gives us his take on Muslim beats and Guru Dev Gattacharjiya, who enlightens us with his great wisdom about everything. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Speaking about the new series Adil said: \u201cLike many others, I am a huge fan of Paul and Charlie and they have long been an inspiration. To be asked to work alongside them was just fantastic. I am just glad they don&#8217;t do Pakistani accents, although Paul did try!\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Whitehouse and Higson along with a talented ensemble of players including Rhys Thomas, Lucy Montgomery, Simon Day, Rosie Cavaliero and Felix Dexter, take on a gamut of quintessentially British characters.
