{"id":8660,"date":"2009-02-03T16:52:22","date_gmt":"2009-02-03T16:52:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2009\/02\/03\/shilpa-gets-into-the-cricket-act\/"},"modified":"2009-02-03T16:52:22","modified_gmt":"2009-02-03T16:52:22","slug":"shilpa-gets-into-the-cricket-act","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2009\/02\/03\/shilpa-gets-into-the-cricket-act\/","title":{"rendered":"Shilpa gets into the Cricket act"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Actress buys stake in IPL side Rajasthan Royals<\/h3>\n<div><strong>ACTRESS Shilpa Shetty looks set to do battle with Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta on the cricket field after she became the fourth Bollywood star to buy into the Indian Premier League cricket extravaganza.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The Celebrity Big Brother winner splashed out $15.4m to buy a stake in the Rajasthan Royals team who won the inaugural league last year. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Shetty acquired an 11.7% stake in a joint partnership with partner and UK businessman Raj Kundra.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The actress is now the fourth Bollywood star to move into the cricketing world alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla who own rivals Kolkata Knight Riders, and Preity Zinta who owns a stake on the Kings XI Punjab team. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Shetty, who owns her own film production company, said she was \u201cvery passionate\u201d about cricket. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cCricket is not a sport in our country, it\u2019s a religion\u201d, she said. \u201cI am very passionate about Cricket and who better to invest in than the current reigning IPL champions.
