{"id":8615,"date":"2008-07-16T17:18:00","date_gmt":"2008-07-16T17:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2008\/07\/16\/hip-hop-legend-and-bollywood-star-unite\/"},"modified":"2008-07-16T17:18:00","modified_gmt":"2008-07-16T17:18:00","slug":"hip-hop-legend-and-bollywood-star-unite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2008\/07\/16\/hip-hop-legend-and-bollywood-star-unite\/","title":{"rendered":"Hip-Hop legend and Bollywood star unite"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Akshay &amp; Snoop collaborate in first for Bollywood<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"210\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"235\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/SnoopAkshay_232x180.jpg\"\/>TWO of the most heavyweight names in their respective industries \u2013 American hip hop superstar Snoop Dogg and king of Bollywood Akshay Kumar &#8211; have come together in a collaboration that heralds the first of its kind for Bollywood.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The duo united on a track for Kumar\u2019s forthcoming blockbuster film Singh is Kinng.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The lavish video for the title track of <em>Singh is Kinng <\/em><span>was recorded in Los Angeles earlier this month in time for the 8 August release of the film. <\/span><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The shoot for the video cost in excess of $1 million \u2013 a record for any Bollywood video.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>UK based Bhangra outfit, RDB also had a hand in the production. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The project is the first ever collaboration of its kind between a big international music artist and the Bollywood film industry signaling a global turn for the hugely popular Indian film industry.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Speaking about the collaboration, Kumar said: <span>\u201cThe song has really turned out very well and I like it very much. It will be fun to shoot the video with a rapper of Snoop Dogg\u2019s calibre. I have seen his videos and he is very impressive.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>A spokesperson for Snoop Dogg added: <span>\u201cOur entire team is thrilled about the video as it will be something new for all of us.
