{"id":8611,"date":"2008-06-09T17:58:56","date_gmt":"2008-06-09T17:58:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2008\/06\/09\/iifa-joy-for-shah-rukh\/"},"modified":"2008-06-09T17:58:56","modified_gmt":"2008-06-09T17:58:56","slug":"iifa-joy-for-shah-rukh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2008\/06\/09\/iifa-joy-for-shah-rukh\/","title":{"rendered":"IIFA joy for Shah Rukh"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>\u2026but star snubs Bollywood awards again<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"267\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"180\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/KareenaKapoorIIFA08180x232.jpg\"\/>SHAH Rukh Khan\u2019s biggest film of the year swept the IIFA\u2019s in Bangkok yesterday \u2013 despite the Bollywood star snubbing the ceremony for the third year in a row.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Khan\u2019s hockey film \u2018Chak De India\u2019 scooped the Best Film award, with Best Director going to Shimit Amin, and Best Actor for Khan himself. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>While the actor has snubbed the awards since 2005, the IIFA\u2019s have plenty of support from other Bollywood stars. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Kareena Kapoor made the trip to Thailand to pick up the award for Best Actress for Jab We Met, while newcomers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were handed the Best Debut awards. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Konkana Sen Sharma and Irrfan Khan won the Best Actor in Supporting Role female and male, respectively, for the film \u2018Life in a Metro\u2019. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Vivek Oberoi\u2019s powerful performance won him the Best Actor in a Negative Role for Shootout at Lokhandwala while Govinda\u2019s impeccable timing got him coveted IIFA Trophy for Partner.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Music Maestro A R Rahman won the Best Music Director for his soulful tunes in Guru. He also bagged the Awards for Best Background Score and Outstanding Contribution to International Cinema.
