{"id":8605,"date":"2008-04-18T12:09:55","date_gmt":"2008-04-18T12:09:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2008\/04\/18\/asian-group-aim-to-bring-cultures-together\/"},"modified":"2008-04-18T12:09:55","modified_gmt":"2008-04-18T12:09:55","slug":"asian-group-aim-to-bring-cultures-together","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2008\/04\/18\/asian-group-aim-to-bring-cultures-together\/","title":{"rendered":"Asian group aim to \u2018bring cultures together\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Offlicence team up with Apache Indian<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"195\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"232\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/OfflicenceBand232x169.jpg\"\/>A WEST Midlands Asian music group is hoping to use their music to unite different cultures.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Offlicence, a Midlands based group consisting of vocalist Sunny J, and rappers Lexeye and Projay, will release the first single \u2018Indian Ting\u2019 from their highly anticipated album \u2018Desilution\u2019 later this month. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The boys have roped in rapper Apache Indian for the song.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cIndian Ting reflects our diverse cultural influences and backgrounds that make up modern Britain\u201d, Offlicence member Sunny J said.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cI believe that ethnic minorities do have a voice in the UK, this song is an expression of unity between Britain\u2019s two biggest subcultures.&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Apache Indian, a mainstream star in the 90s with hits \u2018Arranged Marriage\u2019 and \u2018Boom Shack-A-Lak\u2019, was all praise for the group.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cMeeting the boys and listening to the sound of what they represent, It was great, I thought it was very new\u201d, he said. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cI believe they have so much to offer, the world has to wait for this album, we need something fresh. As I look, we have so many people from different backgrounds, different styles, you have reggae, you have hip-hop, you have Bhangra. If used in the right way, people sometimes use them in the wrong way.
