{"id":8538,"date":"2007-06-21T16:29:33","date_gmt":"2007-06-21T16:29:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2007\/06\/21\/king-of-the-castle\/"},"modified":"2007-06-21T16:29:33","modified_gmt":"2007-06-21T16:29:33","slug":"king-of-the-castle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2007\/06\/21\/king-of-the-castle\/","title":{"rendered":"King of the Castle!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Bollywood star Shah Rukh jets into Warwick Castle<\/h3>\n<div>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"272\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"180\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/SRK%27WarwickCastle%27.jpg\"\/>TOP Midland tourist attraction Warwick Castle was treated to some Bollywood royalty after Shah Rukh Khan jetted into the majestic site to open their new attraction.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cKing Khan\u201d as he is known to his millions of fans, kicked off a whistle-stop private visit to one of Britain\u2019s oldest and most majestic castles by wielding a sword for a mediaeval-style red ribbon cutting ceremony flanked by a bodyguard of fully armoured knights. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>He had earlier made a true Bollywood-style entrance to the site \u2013 landing on the castle\u2019s majestic green grounds on a private helicopter as hundreds of fans waited patiently for a glimpse of their idol. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The multi-award winning Indian mega-star and his family later enjoyed a tour of the castle and a taste of some of the many events and entertainments it offers including an archery display, a Birds of Prey show and the spectacle of the world\u2019s biggest trebuchet firing. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHe said the trip had given him an \u201cexciting taste of British history\u201d.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cI love Britain and our visit to Warwick Castle today has given us a wonderful and exciting taste of British history\u201d, he said.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cThe castle itself is spectacular, and there are so many stories and so much to do. We\u2019ve had a truly memorable time.\u201d <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nGeneral Manager, Sue Kemp, said: \u201cIt has been an honour to welcome such an icon to Warwick Castle.
