In an inspiring night for the Asian media industry, the Midlands celebrated its talent as it picked up four awards.<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

The star-studded ceremony hosted by Sky News presenter Jannat Jalil took place at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate.<\/p>\n


\nBirmingham-based DesiBlitz.com<\/a> picked-up their second AMA for Best Website in two years after it was named Best Website. Popular daytime radio-host, Noreen Khan was named\u00a0 Best\u00a0 Radio Show whilst the BBC Asian Network picked-up their third consecutive AMA\u00a0in the Radio Station of the Year category.<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

Fellow Midlanders Leicester City Council were names Best Event Award with their annual Diwali Lights Switch-on event.\u00a0<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

Ranvir Singh was named as the Media Personality of the Year 2015.\u00a0In 2015 she has been seen on ITN News as well as Good Morning Britain and also fronted a number of investigation pieces tackling issues ranging from the refugee crisis to drink driving.<\/p>\n


\nCelebrated actor Roshan Seth was honoured with the Sophiya Haque Services to British Television and Film Award.<\/p>\n


\nThe Asian Media Awards Best Investigation category in 2015 featured ground-breaking work tackling controversial subject matters from across the globe. The recipient of the 2015 award was Leslee Udwin\u2019s film \u2018India\u2019s Daughter.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n


\nBBC Current Affairs Editor Kavita Puri was presented with the Journalist of the Year award.<\/p>\n


\nThe highly contested University of Salford Outstanding Young Journalist of the Year award was won by Siraj Datoo, Political Reporter with the website Buzzfeed.<\/p>\n


\nITV Meridian\u2019s Sangeeta Bhabra was named Regional Journalist of the Year. \u2018Slave Wives\u2019 a report by BBC Newsnight won the TV\u00a0 Report of the Year\u00a0 2015 award.<\/p>\n


\nAnita\u00a0 Anand was\u00a0 named\u00a0 Radio Presenter of the Year. Media Moguls and Star Plus also picked-up their third AMA in their respective categories.<\/p>\n


\nSabras Radio who celebrated their 20th<\/sup> anniversary in 2015 was named Regional Radio Station of the Year. Natasha Mudhar beat-off strong competition to win the Media Professional of the Year accolade.<\/p>\n


\nAsad Shan was\u00a0 named TV Presenter\u00a0 of the Year and Desi Rascals\u00a0 named\u00a0 Best TV Show. Rakhee Thakrar\u2019s portrayal of Shabnam Masood in Eastenders saw\u00a0 her presented with the Best TV Character Award.<\/p>\n


\nLive stage productions featured as a new category in this year\u2019s awards, with Bend It Like Beckham, The Musical, winning the new accolade.<\/p>\n


\nLeeds based newspaper Asian Express won the Publication of the Year\u00a0 Award. In the Online section Amena\u00a0 Beauty, known more\u00a0 commonly as Pearl Daisy. Parle Patel was presented with the Best Video Channel Award for Planet Parle.<\/p>\n

Director Waris Hussein presented the Outstanding Contribution to Media Award to former BBC producer Tara Prem.\u00a0It came on a night as\u00a0 the awards also celebrated 50 years of Asian programming on the BBC.<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

The evening also saw an emotional tribute, read by Amrit Matharu, to Punjab2000 founder, Tony Singh Pabla, who died earlier this year. \u00a0<\/p>\n
