Speaking in Birmingham, Mr Cameron will say the issue has become a \u201cstruggle for a generation.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Tackling the issue of home-grown radicalisation, the Prime Minister will be setting out his agenda to tackle the growing problem of young people joining terrorist groups along with the conspiracy theories. \u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201c\u201cWhen people say: \u2018It\u2019s because of the involvement in the Iraq war that people are attacking the west,\u2019 we should remind them: 9\/11 \u2013 the biggest loss of life of British citizens in a terrorist attack \u2013 happened before the Iraq war,\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWhen they say that these are wronged Muslims getting revenge on their western wrongdoers, let\u2019s remind them: from Kosovo to Somalia, countries like Britain have stepped in to save Muslim people from massacres. It\u2019s groups like [Islamic State], al-Qaida and Boko Haram that are the ones murdering Muslims.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>He will continue: \u201cOthers might say: it\u2019s because terrorists are driven to their actions by poverty. But that ignores the fact that many of these terrorists have had the full advantages of prosperous families and a western university education.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cI am not saying these issues aren\u2019t important. But let\u2019s not delude ourselves. We could deal with all these issues \u2013 and some people in our country and elsewhere would still be drawn to Islamist extremism.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The prime minister will set out what he sees as the four main reasons that people become radicalised:<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Extremism can seem exciting, especially to young people.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>People can be drawn from non-violent extremism to violent extremism.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Extremists are overpowering other voices within Muslim debate.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Failures of integration allow extremist ideas to gain traction.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/ul>\n<aside data-component=\"rich-link\" data-link-name=\"rich-link-3 | 3\" element--thumbnail=\"\" element-rich-link=\"\"\/>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWe have to answer each one of these four points,\u201d he will say.\u201d Do that, and the right approach for defeating this extremism follows.
