26-Year-Old Arrested on Suspicion of Fatal Stabbing of Pregnant Mother-of-Two<\/h3>\n

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a pregnant mother-of-two in Bradford.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Nadia Khan, who was six months pregnant, was in her home in the city’s area of Manningham when she was stabbed in the chest in an attack which left both mother and unborn child dead.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old’s two young children, said to be a boy and a girl ages four and three respectively, were also believed to have been present in the house when the attack, which police have described as a ‘domestic incident’, took place.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A man hunt was launched by the police to find a man who had fled the scene following the incident yesterday afternoon. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

West Yorkshire Police Detective Chief Inspector Mark McManus said: \u201cAt around 3am this morning detectives arrested a 26-year-old man from the Bradford Moor area of the city. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody this morning. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cI can confirm that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation.\u201d <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A devastated friend, 42, who wished to remain anonymous, said: \u201cShe was a very good girl. She was just talking to me last night about going to Ikea on Monday. I was going to take her. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cI cannot believe it. She was so sweet, always laughing and joking.\u201d <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Detective Chief Inspector Jim Dunkerley, from the force’s homicide and major enquiry team, said: \u201cThe body of a woman was found by police and paramedics inside a property on Holker Street. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cShe had suffered fatal stab wounds. While the murder investigation is at an early stage we are treating this as a domestic related incident. Enquiries are currently ongoing to trace a man in connection with the death.\u201d <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThis was a very serious incident and will understandably cause a considerable amount of distress and upset amongst the local community. To reassure local people we have increased patrols by neighbourhood officers in the area and I do not believe there is any wider danger to members of the public.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
