Teenager Arrested on Attempted Murder<\/h3>\n

Police investigating the stabbing of a teacher in Bradford have arrested a teenager on suspicion of attempted murder.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Enquiries remain ongoing this evening into the incident at Dixons Kings Academy in Bradford<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Officers were called there at 8.55am after a male teacher, aged 50, was stabbed while teaching a science class at the school.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The man was taken to hospital where he was treated for a single stab wound to the stomach.\u00a0 His injuries are\u00a0not believed to be life threatening and\u00a0he remains in hospital where he is\u00a0being supported by his family.\u00a0<\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Large scale enquiries have been ongoing today following the stabbing and as part of those, a 14-year-old local teenager was arrested this afternoon in Bradford City Centre.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

He remains in custody for questioning.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Simon Atkinson said: “There were a number of pupils who witnessed the incident, which took place in a classroom, and they have been liaising with our specially trained officers. This is believed to be an isolated incident and police are continuing enquiries to establish the facts.<\/div>\n

“I would like to reassure residents and staff that all necessary resources are being deployed to investigate this ongoing and clearly very serious incident.”<\/div>\n

Damien Miller, Superintendent Neighbourhood Operations, who leads Neighbourhood Policing across the Bradford District, said: “Lidget Green is a close knit community and I understand that students, parents, staff and the wider community will be upset by what has taken place here today at Dixons Kings Academy.<\/div>\n
