{"id":8218,"date":"2015-04-10T13:18:15","date_gmt":"2015-04-10T13:18:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2015\/04\/10\/we-have-no-sympathy-for-people-joining-extremists\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T15:03:49","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T15:03:49","slug":"we-have-no-sympathy-for-people-joining-extremists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2015\/04\/10\/we-have-no-sympathy-for-people-joining-extremists\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cWe Have No Sympathy for People Joining Extremists\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>British Muslims Respond to Poll<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"1\" hspace=\"3\" vspace=\"10\" align=\"middle\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/British-Muslims-2015-458x191.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>A poll, commissioned by a leading news organisation, has revealed how over a third of British Muslims \u201cblame the actions of the police and MI5 radicalising the younger generation.\u201d <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>According to the survey, 39% of British Muslims have said public authorities, such as the police service and MI5, have a hand in turning Muslims extremists, with 29% saying they didn\u2019t. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The topic of young people uprooting their lives to join extremist groups such as Islamic State and becoming &#8216;jihadi brides,\u2019 remains a highly controversial one. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>One situation was that of 15-year-old Amira Abase who left London to join the situation in Syria. Her father Abase Hussen blamed authorities for not warning families that girls were at risk.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>However, the poll suggested both Muslims and non-Muslims, jointly, were responsible for stopping young people going to Syria: 44% of Muslims and 65% of non-Muslims agreed.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Just 3% of Muslims thought the police were responsible, 15% said the Government, 9% religious leaders and 2% schools.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Ironically, compassion with those leaving the UK to fight for or marry terrorist groups in Syria was highest among women.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Some 11% of female Muslims agreed they had a lot of sympathy, compared to 5% of males.
