The 44-year-old beat activist Malala Yousafzai and singing sensation Zayn Malik to top the 2014 GG2 Power List 101 after judges \u00a0declared he had \u201copened the cultural doors for all Britons in the UK\u201d. David Cameron, said he was \u201cextremely proud\u201d of Javid and said he hoped Britain would have an Asian Prime Minister in the future.<\/div>\n

\u201cLet us think big about what Britons of all backgrounds can achieve,\u201d said Cameron.<\/div>\n

\u201cWhen I hear ‘sir’, ‘your honour’ or ‘right honourable’, I want them to be followed by a British Asian name. One day I want to hear that title ‘Prime Minister’ followed by a British Asian name.\u201d<\/div>\n

Javid pushed Malala Yousafzai to second place after she came first on the list last year. The activist was named the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, the youngest to do so.\u00a0<\/div>\n

\u201cCulture is more than a privilege,\u201d said Javid. \u201cIt’s at the core of who we are and how we define ourselves.<\/div>\n

\u201cIf you’re not engaged with our cultural life, you’re not engaged with our national life. And in 2014, too many Britons are culturally disenfranchised.\u201d<\/div>\n
