Sajid Javid has been promoted to the Government front bench as the new Culture, Media and Sport Secretary. <\/div>\n

The move follows the resignation of Maria Miller after pressure grew on her to go following allegations about her expenses. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

He is current Member of Parliament for Bromsgrove and has ‘long been tipped as a rising star in the Conservative Party.’<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

His father was a bus driver, and he attended state schools before winning a place at Exeter University to study Economics and Politics. He joined the Conservative Party in 1988 and has been an active volunteer ever since.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Aged 25 and based in New York, Sajid became a Vice President of Chase Manhattan Bank. He was later headhunted by Deutsche Bank in London to help build its business in developing countries. He left Deutsche Bank as a senior Managing Director in the summer of 2009 to give something back through politics.<\/div>\n

Last Autumn, Mr Javid was one of those critics, saying that the lack of social mobility in British public life is \u201ctroubling\u201d.<\/div>\n

Mr Javid said: \u201cIt should trouble every politician of any background and any party because you can never have enough of it.<\/div>\n

Writing on Twitter, the MP said\u00a0it was, “A privilege to serve my country as Secretary of State for Culture, Media, Sport and Equalities.”<\/div>\n
