{"id":7836,"date":"2014-02-04T11:04:19","date_gmt":"2014-02-04T11:04:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2014\/02\/04\/bolton-barbers-makes-final-of-britains-best-shave\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T14:37:29","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T14:37:29","slug":"bolton-barbers-makes-final-of-britains-best-shave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2014\/02\/04\/bolton-barbers-makes-final-of-britains-best-shave\/","title":{"rendered":"Bolton barbers makes final of Britain\u2019s Best Shave"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Jignesh Madhavji Shortlisted in National Award<\/h3>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"1\" hspace=\"3\" vspace=\"10\" align=\"middle\" width=\"460\" height=\"225\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Jiggi-Madhavji-460x225.jpg\"\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div\/>&#13;<\/p>\n<div\/>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>A Bolton barber is celebrating this morning after being shortlisted in a competition to crown Britain\u2019s best wet shaving barber.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Jignesh Madhavji, owner of the Jiggi Salon and Spa in the prestigious Bolton Whites Hotel inside the Reebok Stadium, beat off fierce competition and will now go head-to-head with 14 other barbers for the coveted North West Best Wet Shaving Barber regional title.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nIf Jignesh , 28, wins the North West regional heat he will then go on to the national final and compete against seven other wet shaving experts in a special \u201cspeed shaving\u201d tournament inside a boxing ring at Barber Connect 2014 at the coveted Celtic Manor Hotel in Wales.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe North West regional final will take place in Manchester in March 2014, where Jignesh will be judged on a number of criteria such as preparation, razor technique, after shave routine, health and safety and overall efficiency.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The competition, dubbed \u2018Britain\u2019s Best Shave\u2019, is being organised by premium male grooming brand The Bluebeards Revenge and the British Barbers\u2019 Association.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nMike Taylor, director at the British Barbers\u2019 Association, said: \u201cThe competition promises to be not only a celebration of the most creative and innovative of British wet shave barbering, but also a showcase of the growing global reach and talent of the UK cut-throat shaving industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nJignesh, who won the NHF barbering competition back in 2010, said he was delighted to have made the regional shortlist and was hopeful of progressing to the national final.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHe said: \u201cI am really pleased to be competing in the competition to find Britain&#8217;s best wet shaver. Barbering is my passion and I love being creative and innovative as it allows me to provide a very personal service\u00a0to the individual. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\u201cI have been running my own salon and spa in the Bolton Whites Hotel for just over two years and have built a very loyal customer base. I now have clients travelling miles for my face oil massages and cut throat shaves.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cI am trying to build a reputation in Bolton for men&#8217;s hairdressing and creating a recognised brand. Winning this shaving competition will be great for\u00a0my clients to see and shows that I have got a real passion for shaving.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe winner of the competition will land the coveted title of Britain\u2019s Best Shaver, plus win \u00a33k worth of Bluebeards Revenge shaving products and star in a shaving commercial for the leading male grooming brand.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nNick Gibbens, marketing manager at The Bluebeards Revenge, said: \u201cWe connect with the funky, young new generation of barbers who are the future of the industry.
