{"id":7461,"date":"2015-05-05T11:59:01","date_gmt":"2015-05-05T11:59:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2015\/05\/05\/trojan-horse-head-sent-death-threats\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T14:24:09","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T14:24:09","slug":"trojan-horse-head-sent-death-threats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2015\/05\/05\/trojan-horse-head-sent-death-threats\/","title":{"rendered":"Trojan Horse Head Sent Death Threats"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Teachers Criticise Government for Not Implementing Recommendations <\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"1\" hspace=\"3\" vspace=\"10\" align=\"middle\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Sarah-Hewitt-Clarkson-458x191.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The head of a Birmingham school which had been inspected as part of the Trojan Horse affair\u00a0has received a death threat from a parent.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Sarah Hewitt-Clarkson, head of Anderton Park School\u00a0in Sparkhill, had been send the message via social media, which read, \u201cAny headteacher who teaches my children it\u2019s alright to be gay will be at the end of my shotgun.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Speaking at the National Association of Head Teachers annual conference, Ms Hewitt-Clarkson said, \u201cTrojan Horse has not gone away. Those of us who were involved, we knew it was the tip of the iceberg.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWe still have dead animals hung on the gates of schools, dismembered cats on playgrounds. We have petitions outside schools, objecting to teachers teaching against homophobia.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The union backed a resolution which raised concerns that the recommendations of the report commissioned\u00a0by the government\u00a0into the Trojan Horse scandal were not being fully implemented.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>NAHT member Alison Marshall told the conference, \u201cNine months after the Clarke report was published, with recommendations so clearly stated, very strong evidence given by our members and colleagues, we are still a long way from implementing those recommendations.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWe need to exert pressure to ensure that these recommendations are truly delivered, not in a superficial way and certainly not watered down.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cDespite all the evidence we have, we\u2019re faced with a situation where not one single governor implicated in the Trojan Horse scandal, has been investigated or even banned.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWhere is the justice in that?\u201d Ms Hewitt-Clarkson told delegates: \u201cAll the behaviours and things we saw before are still there.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cSo to have promises that have been broken, not followed through, are absolutely unhelpful, unsupportive and have left open gaps for certain individuals to start up again.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Delegate Tim Gallagher said that because governors were volunteers, there was limited legislation in the area and inappropriate behaviour could be found in the governance of schools.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cIt does not need to be as profoundly dangerous as that found in Birmingham, it can be the micro-managing of a school to the detriment of our members and the school itself.
