{"id":7436,"date":"2015-04-01T15:21:15","date_gmt":"2015-04-01T15:21:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2015\/04\/01\/police-appeal-after-daylight-beating\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T14:23:18","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T14:23:18","slug":"police-appeal-after-daylight-beating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2015\/04\/01\/police-appeal-after-daylight-beating\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Appeal After Daylight Beating"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Image Reveals Extent of Victims Injuries<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\"><img decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"10\" hspace=\"3\" border=\"1\" align=\"middle\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/daylight-beating-467x184.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\">Detectives investigating a baseball bat attack in a Sparkbrook street have issued images of the victim\u2019s injuries in the hope it will persuade someone to speak out.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\">Jamil Ahmed was walking along Ladypool Road on the evening of 15 December last year when he was set upon by three masked assailants.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\"><img decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"10\" hspace=\"10\" border=\"1\" align=\"right\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/daylight-beating-250x200.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/>The 27-year-old, from Sparkbrook, was left with a bleed on the brain and required hospital treatment for more than two weeks before finally being discharged on New Year\u2019s Eve.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\">A police investigation has so far been unable to identify those responsible or confirm a motive for the beating.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\">Investigating officer DC Michelle Akers, said, \u201cThis was a targeted attack, nothing was stolen and it appears Mr Ahmed has been assaulted by someone with a grudge against him, but precisely what\u2019s prompted it remains unclear.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\">\u201cThere can be no justification for an assault of this nature. It was a cowardly attack by three people, armed with baseball bats and with their faces covered. Mr Ahmed stood no chance of protecting himself and has been left with lasting physical, emotional and psychological scarring.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm\">\u201cThis has happened during a busy time of day on Ladypool Road in full view of members of the public.
