Opportunist Thief Sought<\/h3>\n

Police are searching for an opportunist thief who stole \u00a3300 from a Birmingham pensioner\u2019s bank account after he lost his card.

\nThe 70-year-old used the ATM outside Union Street’s Santander Bank in the city centre just before 10.30am on New Year’s Eve and walked away having made a withdrawal.

\n
\nRealising he’d left his card he returned moments later…but instead of finding his card he discovered only a receipt showing \u00a3300 had been taken.

\n
\nPC Gurprit Bains, from Birmingham Police Investigation Team, said: “The offender clearly spotted an opportunity and took it, stealing hundreds from an innocent pensioner.

\n“We are keen to find this man, who was seen on CCTV, and is suspected of being involved in the theft.”
