Focus Leukaemia are organising a Las Vegas themed fundraising charity ball in aid of Delete Blood Cancer UK. The event will take place on Friday 3rd<\/sup> October 2014 at the Royale Banqueting Suite, Pountney Street, Wolverhampton, WV2 4HX 6.30pm till late.<\/strong> <\/div>\n

After the huge success of Focus Leukaemia Charity Ball in October 2013 raising \u00a332,000 for our two named charities: Delete Blood Cancer UK and Leukaemia and Lymphoma, 21 year old Samrick Singh Bahia from Wolverhampton who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in January 2013 decided that he wanted to do another fundraising event to raise the awareness of Leukaemia, encourage more people from the Asian communities to register as bone marrow donors though awareness and raise funds for Delete Blood Cancer UK. <\/span><\/div>\n

Samrick was given the clear last October 2013 after months of chemotherapy but still has to under-go chemotherapy and treatment every month at the QE Hospital in Birmingham so that it doesn\u2019t reoccur.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201c2013 was certainly a year I won’t ever forget in my lifetime, it was the most difficult year in my life for me and my family and one that has now changed my outlook on life forever. I guess like most young lads, I took life for granted but I only now appreciate how important every day is. Having gone through a year of intense chemotherapy, meeting and having to say goodbye to a special friend losing his battle to cancer similar age to me is something that will stay with me forever.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u2013 said Samrick<\/div>\n

Joe Hallett, donor recruitment manager at Delete Blood Caner UK said –<\/em><\/span>\u201cAfter last year\u2019s fantastic ball where hundreds of people joined the blood stem cell registry and thousands of pounds was raised to fund the registration costs of new potential lifesavers, Samrick and Focus Leukaemia have organised another wonderful event.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n

\u201cViva means \u2018long life\u2019 in several languages, and as the event is in support of all those seeking a lifesaving matching blood stem cell donor, they are truly putting the Viva in Las Vegas!\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n

This event is organised in association with Singh4Samrick and Stop Press PR. <\/div>\n

The evening will see Champagne\u00a0Reception, Canap\u00e9s, Fun Casino, 4 Course Meal, Entertainment, Raffle Prizes and Auction. <\/div>\n

\u201cI have been blessed to be in maintenance and thanks to all the dedicated support from my friends and family I want to focus on living my life to the max but more importantly, I want to do all I can to support any young person going through similar diagnosis and treatment. I want to dedicate my spare time to raising as much money as possible to support Leukaemia charities as well as encouraging the donor register amongst Asian communities hence organising this years Las Vegas Charity Ball.\u201d <\/em><\/strong>Adds Samrick<\/div>\n

There has been a number of fundraising activities throughout the year to support Delete Blood Cancer by Samrick and his family and friends including a Carver half a marathon (See attached Picture), completed by Samrick, Stuart Corns, Bally Dosanjh and Cameron Bahia, a skydive completed by his mother Pardip Bahia (See attached Picture), a ladies \u2018night in\u2019 by Pardip Bahia, Sukhi Dosanjh and Gurminder Dosanjh and a university fundraising ball organised by his sister Aneet Bahia.<\/div>\n

This year\u2019s event is hoping to raise as much money as possible and register as many as possible onto the bone marrow register. The event includes Live entertainment on the night will be provided by Funki Feathers Show Girls, Indian Elvis,\u00a0 Aman Hayer, Angrez Ali,\u00a0Jags Climax,\u00a0Midland Boyz Mbz,\u00a0Dev Dhillon, Peeta Peeta Nakodariya, The Shades Band and Magic\u00a0Peter Sahota.<\/span><\/strong> The evening will be compered by: Sukhi Bart and Raaj FM.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n

On the night, Delete Blood Cancer UK will be taking swab tests and registering people on the Bone Marrow Register. Its costs \u00a340.00 to register one new lifesaver, we aim to register numerous people and raise as much funds for the charity as possible.<\/div>\n
