Coroner Records Cause of Death as “unascertained” <\/h3>\n

The mother of an 8-year-old schoolgirl, who suddenly died in whilst on a holiday in India, has told an inquest that \u201ca medic took her life after administering a mystery injection.\u201d<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Gurkiren Kaur Loyal, from Birmingham, had visited a clinic in the Punjab after suffering from dehydration along with treating a stomach bug, where she died on April 2 last year – and when her body was returned to the UK, it was discovered her organs had been removed.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Her heartbroken parents, Santokh Singh Loyal and Amrit Kaur, from Hockley,\u00a0had originally thought that the girl had been murdered \u201corgans could be harvested.\u201d<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

They blame the clinic for \u201cfailing to attempt to resuscitate Gurkiren after the injection and police for never formally investigating the death.\u201d<\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Senior Coroner Louise Hunt told the parents: \u201cAll I can do is record a cause of death as unascertained and give an open conclusion as to how she died. What a terrible situation you found yourself in, not being consulted about anything after losing your daughter. No resuscitation attempt was made which is surprising. I hope for you more evidence does emerge that can be investigated.\u201d<\/div>\n

When giving evidence,\u00a0Mrs Kaur blamed medics for the death of her daughter,\u00a0a pupil at Nishkam School in Handsworth, who she described as a \u201cstar\u2019\u2019.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Mrs Kaur said, \u201cShe would have had a perfectly good life if they let her live. I deeply believe it was the surgeon that took her life. That I know for a fact, deep down. Gurkiren fell ill a few days after arriving in the Punjab where she met her grandparents for the first time. She was taken to a local clinic, after complaining of stomach pains and was repeatedly sick, and blood tests were taken.<\/div>\n

\u201cWhen she returned hours later she was given an injection by a medic that she never recovered from. I asked the assistant \u2018what\u2019s that injection for?\u2019 and he just turned his face,\u201d Mrs Kaur said.<\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cHe walked round the bed and I said to him \u2018I\u2019m asking you a question\u2019, but he injected her\u00a0canula. As soon as he did that her neck went floppy and her eyes rolled and I thought \u2018oh my god she\u2019s gone\u2019. They did not try to resuscitate her so I screamed for the doctor. He came up but said there was nothing they could do for her.\u201d<\/div>\n

Dr Gerald Langman, a pathologist at Heartlands Hospital, who performed an in-depth analysis of the body on April 19, told the inquest \u201cit was impossible to give a cause of death because of the delay in the organs being sent back to the UK and because, in some cases, only parts of the organs had been supplied.\u201d <\/div>\n
