{"id":6648,"date":"2014-05-14T15:23:20","date_gmt":"2014-05-14T15:23:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2014\/05\/14\/park-view-governors-deny-extremism-plot\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T13:52:04","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T13:52:04","slug":"park-view-governors-deny-extremism-plot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2014\/05\/14\/park-view-governors-deny-extremism-plot\/","title":{"rendered":"Park View Governors Deny Extremism Plot"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>&#8220;There Is No Extremism&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"1\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" vspace=\"10\" align=\"middle\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trojan-horse-tahir-alam-570x225.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The chief governor of one of the schools caught up in the Trojan Horse plot has denied any extremist teaching is taking place in the school.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Tahir Alam, Chairman of the governors at Park View Academy, has said that \u201cthere is no extremism\u201d being promoted at his school. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cPark View Academy is run within a strict legal framework and taught the national curriculum.\u201d He also insisted that \u201cclaims made about the school were false\u201d and said that allegations of a terror group being praised during assemblies and females being forced to wear headscarves were untrue.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWhat we are doing is well within the regulations and the legal parameters. No assemblies have been done which have praised al Qaida, nobody has called anybody kuffar in the assemblies, all these allegations have been made by anonymous individuals. There is no extremism being tolerated or promoted in any of our schools.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cPark View is a community school so it doesn\u2019t have a religious designation, so we don\u2019t have a faith designation which means that we can\u2019t prescribe any religious practice to any pupil.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cNo child has to wear a headscarf, nobody has to go to prayer in a compulsory manner. The whole thing has been blown out of all proportion. It\u2019s based on an anonymous document, unsigned, undated.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>However, Khalid Mahmood, MP for Perry Barr said, \u201cThey have basically realised that they are now being focused on and from that point of view they have quite significantly changed the attitudes and the way that they were teaching, the way that they were holding assemblies, the way that they were having different lessons, the way the children were being segregated in class.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cI have no objection to any of this, as long as this was open and transparent and this was a proper religious school applied for.
