Detectives in Coventry have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman in the Cheylesmore area of the city on Sunday morning (23 February).<\/p>\n


\nPolice were called to The Monks Croft at 6:40am after the body of 53-year-old Tracey Snook-Kite was found by the ambulance service.<\/p>\n


\nA 48-year-old man was arrested at the property on suspicion of murder and continues to be held in custody tonight.<\/p>\n


\nThe results of a forensic post-mortem which took place today showed that Tracey had sustained head injuries consistent with an assault.<\/p>\n


\nOfficers leading the inquiry are now trying to piece together exactly what happened in the hours leading up to her death.<\/p>\n


\nIn particular, they are appealing for a black cab driver to come forward, who they believe drove her home from the Earlsdon area the previous night.<\/p>\n


\nInvestigating officer, Detective Inspector Harry Harrison, said: \u201cWe know Tracey was picked up from the taxi rank outside the Albany Club at around 11pm on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n


\n\u201cThe driver, who we believe to be Asian, could have vital information that may assist our investigation and I would appeal for them to contact us as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n


\nThe house is being treated as a crime scene and remains cordoned off as specially trained officers support\u00a0 Tracey\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
